Great reference book, trail ratings and what to go see and do.

I bought this book for our trip down to Moab. It was our first time going. We took it with us even though we did have GPS that had most of the trails on it. This book really helped us out for directions and what to see. There are nice pictures in it and it gives you the trail rating on how difficult it would be to manage on your UTV or Jeep. We pulled this out many times to look at along with reading our GPS in our Polaris RZR. The combination of the two was a winner. We are going back next year and bringing the book with us. We did notice that this book was sold everywhere in Moab. I think that means you should buy it. It is a great resource and we are using it already to plan our next trip. Moab is amazing and there is so much to see and do. You need to buy this book and make a trip there.

Outstanding Guide Book!!

I am in Moab as I write this. This book is perfect. I used it while driving four different trails, did the Shafer trail with a Jeep Wrangler, Hells Revenge, Fins and Things, and Hurrah Pass with a RZR 1000.

Don't go without it

We just returned from 2 weeks of Jeeping in Colorado and Moab and these guide books were perfect for pre-route planning and while on the trail to identify problem areas and points of interest. Each trail is laid out in a 2-page format (except for the very technical, longer trails) and it includes a narrative with good general info, a map of the trail with waypoints, and a detailed list of turn by turn instructions laid out my mileage. Not all trails have bail out points or go-arounds for major obstacles but they are listed when present. Good info to have if you have an emergency or bite off more than you can chew on a trail. I’m a planner and I did the research on what guides to use…this is the best by far. There are separate books from this company for ATV legal trails.

A really innovative introduction to sociolinguistics.

This co-authored book is by two very creative up-and-coming scholars who take the lens of identity as a way to discuss both the traditional aspects of sociolinguistics and various topics that others have not included under sociolinguistics. There are various suggestions for exercises. I recommend this as a textbook for undergraduates and M.A. students, and as a Professor I've also learned a lot from it.

Not what I expected

The highlighted routes may not have the minimum clearance of 13'6'. You need to study the low clearance tables and find them on the map. Why are they not marked on the map and why is the route still highlighted when it does not comply with the minimum clearance?

Wouldn't purchase again.

A waste of money for RVers. As other reviewers stated this is hard to read. Figuring out low clearances, which was the primary reason to purchase, nearly impossible. I will use their low clearance info and transfer to google maps for pre trip planning. Low clearances are not on the map they are just listed in the front of the Atlas, all of which is available for free online.

This is a good, basic book to introduce the concept of discourse markers to students of discourse analysis or sociolinguistics. If you are taking classes in linguistics, there is a good chance that your professor will use some of these dialogues as examples. There has been a lot of work done on the subject since this book was published, so anyone who wants to go into more depth should look into more recent publications. Nevertheless, this book is well worth reading, both for its content and as an example of how to do discourse analysis.

WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY

This book was absolutely no good. It had lots and lots of grammatical errors. I guess it was not edited properly, if at all. Aside from that problem, his writings were not based on any truth that I could find, and were just not believable at all.

like the Hopi legends

What are the author's credentials, background education other than being an acupuncturist that could justify the topic he writes about? Can he present any scientific, linguistic, historic research or any other believable facts? Telling the readers he read a lot (since he was 7 years old ) or he traveled a lot does not justify anything of the theories he puts forward. A lot of people do that without pretense . It seems to me the real "teachers" or seekers do not make a business out of their Knowledge or sacred truth. and do not name "esoteric" everything they cannot explain. Spiritual people are humble and will spread their knowledge for free for those who have ears to hear and eyes to see, like the Hopi legends. Did they ( Hopi or Pueblo ) make any benefit out of their wisdom? No, but a lot of false spiritual teachers and authors did and do. On the other hand, the book is full of typing and gross grammar errors. And I don't even want to go deeper into the lack of writing skills which is under the high school level. I wonder wether anyone proof-read the book before being printed.
